LAS 500 |

The LAS 500 is a new generation Low Air Loss System, which also features an alternating pressure function.
Its technological base is a functionally and visually mature control unit with an air output of up to 1,200 liters per minute. The combination with large air openings inside the cells creates an air pillow effect.
Low Air Loss technology has the critical advantage of permitting the patient to sink in deeply. This leads to very little resting pressures. The ideal area of application is the treatment of extremely pressure sensitive patients with a high pressure sore
(Decubitus) risk.
Operation in alternating pressure
Another functional characteristic of the LAS 500 is the modern 3:1 control system within the alternating pressure mode. It ventilates 2 cells simultaneously while the third one is deaerated As a result the alternating pressure mode guarantees a very low resting pressure as well. The cycles can be adjusted in 5 minute intervals between 5 and 95 minutes.
Additional functions and modes
The LAS 500 is equipped with a multitude of additional functions, providing a high
degree of operator convenience and optimal adaptation to the patient’s needs.
• Care mode: The care mode simplifies the care-taking of patients
• Key-lock-function: This function automatically locks the control panel after
3 minutes.
• Back Up Memory function: After a loss of power this function restores the last
mode settings.
• Bariatric Mode: A supplemental function to the standard mode which offers
settings for patients between 20 and 180 kilograms in 8 increments. The
bariatric mode permits settings for patients between 180 and 340 kilograms.
Mattress system
The LAS 500 System mattress consists of eighteen 20 cm high Polyurethane cells. All cells feature a CPC quick coupling for problem-free positioning and a fast exchange of cells. The mattress system comes with the proven bi-elastic and highly breathable novacareR PES polyurethane cover. The mattress is also available in 120 cm width to better accommodate heavy weight patients.
